Hoyer Doesnt Let A Stroke Keep Him From Joining His Fellow Maryland Democrats In Chicago

Rep. Steny Hoyer Returns to Work After Suffering a Minor Stroke

Just nine days after suffering a minor stroke, Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) addressed the Maryland delegation's breakfast at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Hoyer, 83, is the longest-serving House Democrat in history and is currently serving as the House Majority Leader.

Hoyer's office announced late Tuesday afternoon that he had suffered a mild stroke on Sunday night. He was admitted to George Washington University Hospital, where he was treated and released the following day.

In a statement, Hoyer said that he is "feeling well and grateful for the outpouring of support" he has received.

Despite his recent health scare, Hoyer is expected to continue to play a leading role in the Democratic Party.

Hoyer is a close ally of President Biden and is considered to be one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress.

He is also a strong advocate for Maryland and has been instrumental in securing federal funding for the state.

Hoyer's return to work is a testament to his dedication to public service and his resilience in the face of adversity.
